Our foliage desk is the heart of Yoghourt Hooks Plants. We keep a rotating mix of monstera, calathea, pothos, rubber plant types, and other indoor greens that tolerate the mix of bright windows and shaded corridors common in Belgian city flats. Each plant on the floor carries a short note: how much light it wants, how wet the soil should feel between waterings, and whether it prefers a quiet corner away from heaters.
We do not chase rare collector spikes. Instead we focus on plants that look good for months when you follow a simple rhythm. If a leaf is damaged in transit, we trim it before display. If a plant is root-bound beyond comfort, it moves to the potting corner rather than sitting on a shelf looking thirsty.
How we group the shelves
Trailers sit higher so vines can hang without blocking walkways. Upright foliage occupies the middle bays where you can judge height against your own ceiling. Smaller pots gather near the counter for desks, kitchens, and bathroom windows that only catch a few hours of light.
Bring a photo of the room you have in mind. We will point you toward plants that match that light rather than the brightest specimen in the shop. Many customers leave with one strong plant and a spare pot—better than overloading a windowsill on day one.
Seasonal notes
Winter heating dries leaf edges quickly. We stock humidity-friendly foliage and remind you to keep plants away from radiators. In summer we watch for sunburn on south-facing glass and suggest a sheer curtain or a step back from the pane. Growth slows in darker months; that is normal, not a failure of care.
Gift buyers can ask for a care card in English. We wrap simply so the plant can breathe on the tram ride home along the Scheldt side of town.
